What to do when the City of Salem declares a Snow Emergency.
NOTIFICATION
Snow Emergency notifications are made in several different ways:
Flashing blue lights at key road intersections
Police radio frequency broadcasts
SATV (Salem Access Television - Comcast channel 16)
Connect-CTY notification (Salem's FREE notification system)
Police cruiser loud-speaker and siren
PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Vehicle are to be removed from all streets
NO PARKING on any Snow Emergency Artery (marked w/ posted signage). VEHICLES TAGGED & TOWED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE.
ANY VEHICLE IMPEDING EMERGENCY VEHICLES, SNOW REMOVAL OR TRAFFIC FLOW WILL BE TAGGED AND TOWED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE FROM ANY OTHER STREET.
