Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Salem Police Department. The Department's mission and primary function is to protect and serve the citizens of Salem as well as all those who visit our richly historic city. Salem Police Officers strive to do whatever they can to improve the quality of life in Salem by addressing citizens' concerns on a wide range of issues. In order to be successful in making Salem a safe, pleasant place to live, work and visit, we openly welcome the involvement of the community. Without that involvement we could not be successful in our mission.

The Department supports crime watch and other community programs where citizens actively report crimes and suspicious activity, as well as take part in helping us make our city a safe community. I urge everyone to become involved in our community. Help us to help you. Working together, we can and will continue to make Salem a safe, pleasant place to be.
